(ECNS) -- Chongqing East Railway Station, the largest high-speed rail hub in Western China, is scheduled to put into operation in 2025, according to local authorities.
Located in Nan'an District, Chongqing City, the station is a pilot project for integrated development.
The construction area covers 1.22 million square meters, with 15 platforms, and 29 tracks.
The ceiling, skylights, glass curtain walls, and tree-like columns are nearing completion.
Indoor decoration and equipment installation are being accelerated, with an expected completion date by the end of the year and planned operation in 2025.
The project will introduce multiple high-speed rail lines, including the Chongqing-Xiangtan, Chongqing-Wanzhou, Chongqing-Guiyang, and Chongqing-Kunming routes.
This will be of great significance for improving Chongqing's rail network, promoting the Chengdu-Chongqing dual-city economic circle, and Western land-sea corridor.
