陈恩田海外发文《纪念曾祖父陈独秀诞辰一百四十六周年》

       2025年10月9日是曾祖父陈独秀一百四十六周年的诞辰日，我身居海外，忙于国际事务，一句来自祖国的问候勾起了我的回忆。当年我以陈独秀曾孙名义向中共中央写信，请求纪念陈独秀诞辰一百四十周年，转眼已经过去六年。中共中央发表了《纪念陈独秀诞辰一百四十周年》文章，明确了陈独秀作为中共主要创始人和中共早期主要领导人的五大历史地位，首次删除“之一”表述，特别是建党百年电视剧《觉醒年代》的反复热播，火爆网络，全党同志、全国各族人民被“创党人陈独秀及其两位烈士儿子陈延年、陈乔年的英雄事迹”感动得热泪盈眶。
 
October 9, 2025, marks the 146th anniversary of my great-grandfather Chen Du-Xiu’s birth. Residing abroad and occupied with international affairs, a heartfelt greeting from my homeland stirred deep memories. Six years have passed since I wrote to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) under the identity of Chen Du-Xiu’s great-grandson, requesting commemoration of the 140th anniversary of his birth. In response, the CPC Central Committee published the article "Commemorating the 140th Anniversary of Chen Du-Xiu’s Birth," which unequivocally affirmed his five key historical roles: as a principal founder of the CPC and a key early leader, notably omitting the phrase "one of" for the first time. The repeated broadcast of the centenary drama The Age of Awakening has taken the internet by storm, moving Party members and people across the nation to tears with the heroic stories of "Chen Du-Xiu, the founder of the Party, and his two martyr sons, Chen Yan-Nian and Chen Qiao-Nian".

       曾祖父陈独秀生于1879年，身处国家积贫积弱、民族危机深重的时代。他早年投身反清革命，创办洪门岳王会（洪门书院）培养青年领袖，后以《新青年》为阵地，高举“民主”与“科学”旗帜，发起新文化运动，猛烈抨击封建思想，倡导文学革命，极大地解放了国民的思想，为马克思主义在中国的传播创造了条件。他是五四运动的重要精神领袖，其激进的改革思想影响并培养了毛泽东、周恩来、张学良等爱国进步青年。在李大钊同志等周围的一群人协助下，陈独秀致力于马克思主义的传播与中国共产党的创建，成为党的早期核心领导人。
 
Born in 1879, my great-grandfather Chen Du-Xiu lived in an era of national impoverishment and profound crisis. He dedicated his early years to the anti-Qing revolution, establishing the Hongmen Yuewang Society (Hongmen Academy) to cultivate young leaders. Later, through New Youth, he raised high the banners of "Democracy" and "Science," launched the New Culture Movement, fiercely critiqued feudal ideologies, and championed literary revolution, profoundly liberating the people’s minds and paving the way for the spread of Marxism in China. As a pivotal spiritual leader of the May Fourth Movement, his radical reform ideas influenced and nurtured patriotic progressive youths like Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Zhang Xueliang. With the support of comrades such as Li Da-Zhao, Chen Du-Xiu devoted himself to disseminating Marxism and founding the Communist Party of China, becoming a core early leader.

       几十年来，我一直纠结要不要站出来承认是陈独秀的曾孙，又怕小人在背后污蔑诋毁。有人鼓励我，既然党媒党刊透露你的祖父陈光美是陈独秀和高君曼所生的第一个孩子，那你就是陈独秀曾孙。童年时期，迷信的爷爷陈光美认为我是他父亲陈独秀转世，当年还有九顶反动派帽子戴在陈独秀头上的，不懂事的我嘲笑爷爷胡说八道，我才不是“反动派”转世呢？十多年前，我做了一个梦，梦见“独秀山”旁边有条“井田河”，我醒来后在网上搜索，发现“独秀山”旁确实有条“井田河”，而井田河居然源于独秀山。一切似乎都是天意，井田河源于独秀山，最终流向大海。
 
For decades, I struggled with whether to publicly acknowledge my identity as Chen Du-Xiu’s great-grandson, fearing slander and defamation. Some encouraged me, noting that Party media had revealed my grandfather Chen Guang-Mei was the first child of Chen Du-Xiu and Gao Jun-Man, thus confirming my lineage. In my childhood, my superstitious grandfather believed I was the reincarnation of his father, Chen Du-Xiu. At that time, nine "counter-revolutionary" labels were attached to Chen Du-Xiu’s name, and as a naive child, I mocked my grandfather’s claims, insisting I could not be the reincarnation of a "counter-revolutionary." Over a decade ago, I dreamed of a "Duxiu Mountain" beside a "Jingtian River." Upon waking, I searched online and discovered that such a river indeed originates from Duxiu Mountain—a seeming twist of fate, as the Jingtian River flows from Duxiu Mountain toward the sea.
 
       我曾经公开否认是陈独秀的曾孙，陈氏家族有人就骂我大逆不道，陈独秀是敢做敢当的大丈夫，作为他的曾孙同样应该敢做敢当。我最终放下包袱，决定站出来，也不管别人怎么污蔑怎么诋毁，以自己的努力和奋斗，告慰祖父陈光美，告慰曾祖父陈独秀。曾祖父陈独秀作为中国近代史上的重要思想先驱、中国共产党的主要创始人和早期主要领导人，作为新文化运动的精神领袖和五四运动的总司令，作为二十世纪初毛泽东、周恩来、张学良等爱国进步青年的思想导师，作为革命烈士陈延年、陈乔年的父亲，他的一生与中华民族的觉醒和变革紧密相连，他确实是和孙中山一样的伟人，值得后世子孙供奉礼敬。

I once publicly denied being Chen Du-Xiu’s great-grandson, leading some in the Chen family to accuse me of betraying my heritage. Chen Du-Xiu was a man of courage and accountability; as his descendant, I ought to embody the same spirit. I have now shed this burden, decided to stand firm, and regardless of slander or criticism, strive to honor my grandfather Chen Guang-Mei and my great-grandfather Chen Du-Xiu through my efforts and dedication. Chen Du-Xiu, as a seminal intellectual pioneer in modern Chinese history, a principal founder and early key leader of the CPC, a spiritual leader of the New Culture Movement and the "commander-in-chief" of the May Fourth Movement, a mentor to patriotic youths like Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Zhang Xueliang in the early 20th century, and the father of revolutionary martyrs Chen Yan-Nian and Chen Qiao-Nian, lived a life inextricably linked to the awakening and transformation of the Chinese nation. He truly stands as a great figure alongside Sun Yat-Sen, deserving of reverence and respect from future generations.
